An Embellishment Resource for Sewing Arts

About Susan Schrempf

Susan is a nationally known educator of embellishment arts designed for the
sewing machine. She is the owner of Victorian Venture, a company dedicated to
the preservation of the beauty of sewn embellishments through education and
quality products.
Susan loves to challenge the limits of technology with her creativity. “If it
can be done by hand, certainly it can be done by machine”, she says. Her
passions are silk ribbon embroidery, Russian punchneedle and beading. She has
taught her techniques at shops and guilds across the country and can currently
be viewed in Series 4 of “The Quilt Show”, Ricky Tims’ and Alex Anderson’s
online quilt program.
Susan is the author of “Simple Silk Ribbon Embroidery by Machine” published by
C&T. She has also self published “Faux Russian Punchneedle” a compilation of
traditional punch technique, texturizing with fiber and beadwork all by machine.
She is currently an educator for YLI Corp., Superior Threads, and Embroideryarts.
“Sew News” and “Designs in Machine Embroidery” magazines have published her
articles. Susan also enjoys a relationship with BERNINA®
of America, Inc., as one of its chosen National Artisans.
